What Sentia does

Everything welfare needs, in one record per animal

From the first-thing-in-the-morning observation a keeper taps on their phone to the trend a manager reviews months later - one connected system, built around the animal.

Guided field observation

A keeper records an animal in under a minute: a one-tap stopwatch, the species ethogram and a plain general-state check - built for a phone, outdoors, even with no signal.

Five Domains welfare score

Observations become a welfare score across Nutrition, Environment, Health, Behaviour and Mental state - the EAZA / WAZA standard, drafted with evidence and signed off by your vet.

Real-time alerts to the vet

The moment an observer flags an animal for attention or an abnormal behaviour, a critical alert reaches the vet - nothing waits for the end of the day.

One record, no double work

Field observations flow straight into the animal's record - no re-typing into a second system, no notes lost between a tablet and a spreadsheet. Your existing collection imports from ZIMS, so you never re-key a single animal.

QR at every enclosure

Staff scan an enclosure's QR to jump straight into an observation; visitors reach a public "who lives here" page - one code, two doors.

Works offline, syncs later

Observations, photos and timed sessions are saved on the device and replayed automatically when signal returns - the far corner of the park is not a dead zone.

Group rounds & individuals

Record a whole enclosure at once, or "pinch" a single animal for a per-individual note - flamingo with ring 123, a limp on the left leg - without breaking the round.

Insights & early warning

Activity budgets, welfare trends, coverage gaps and predictive flags - so a quiet drift in an animal's routine is caught weeks before it becomes a problem.

Roles, languages & security

Five roles from volunteer observer to vet to manager, each seeing exactly what they should - in Hebrew, Arabic and English, with a full audit trail and role-based access.

Inside the product

Designed for the keeper's hand, and the manager's desk

One record per animal - identity, medical, welfare and care, in one place.

One platform, not a point tool

Everything a collection runs on, in one system

Observation and welfare are the heart of Sentia - but an accredited collection needs more. From the vet's clinic to the feed store to the studbook, Sentia carries the day-to-day, all in one record per animal.

The animal record

One tabbed profile per animal - identity, provenance, medical, welfare, care, feeding and activity trends.

Medical & clinical

Treatments, diagnoses, weight and body-condition trends, preventive care, contraception and quarantine - vet-gated.

ZIMS import

Bring your living collection across from ZIMS / Species360 - identity, species and medical history, in one pass.Species360

Breeding & population

Introductions, census, mortality and population reports - the studbook side of running a collection.

Nutrition & feeding

Species diets, food groups, feeding schedules, and demand measured against what's in stock.

Enrichment

Log enrichment, rank what works, and get suggestions tailored to the species and its taxonomic group.

Operations & shifts

Shift handover journal, daily rosters and workload, maintenance and enclosure checks, inventory with low-stock alerts.

Live park map

Navigate the park on a real map - pick an enclosure or an animal and jump straight into its record.

Insights & prediction

Activity budgets, welfare trends, coverage gaps and early-warning flags before a problem shows.

Ask the system

Ask a question in plain language and get an answer from across your collection's data.AI

Reports & exports

Scheduled reports emailed automatically, CSV exports, and push or email alerts on every event that matters.

Security & audit

Five roles with row-level access, an immutable audit trail, and a coverage flag for any animal overdue a welfare check.

Live today

Already running at Hai Park, Kiryat Motzkin

Sentia is not a concept - it is the welfare and collection system in daily use at Hai Park zoo, across the whole living collection. The welfare and observation core you see here is in daily use, and the platform is informed by that deployment every day.

How it works

Four steps, one welfare story per animal

The same loop every day - and it only gets sharper as each animal's record grows.

1

Observe

A keeper records what they see in the field - behaviour, enrichment, a note in their own words.

2

Assess

Observations roll up into a Five Domains welfare score, reviewed and signed off by the vet.

3

Act

Flags, enrichment suggestions and clinical follow-ups turn the score into action.

4

See trends

Every entry feeds trends and reports - so welfare is measurable, not anecdotal.

Who it's for

Any place that cares for animals, at any scale

From a single sanctuary to a multi-species collection - Sentia scales to whatever you keep.

Resources

The welfare science under the surface

Sentia is not a generic logging app - it is built on the welfare framework your accreditation already speaks.

Framework

The Five Domains model

Every welfare score rests on Nutrition, Environment, Health, Behaviour and Mental state - the model set out by Mellor (2020) and adopted by WAZA and EAZA.

Standards

EAZA / WAZA alignment

Welfare-coverage tracking and assessment cadence built to the association standards your accreditation is measured against - so an audit finds a record, not a gap.

The problem

The end of double work

Keepers stop re-typing field notes into a second system. Observations flow straight to the vet - fewer lost notes, more time with the animals.

Questions

What zoos ask before they start

Do we have to re-enter all our animals?

No. Sentia imports your living collection from ZIMS / Species360 in one pass - identity, species and medical history - so you start with real animals, not a blank system.

How is Sentia priced?

Pricing is tailored to your collection's size and needs, not per seat. Book a short walkthrough and we'll put together a clear quote for your park.

How long until we're up and running?

Because your collection imports from ZIMS, most of the setup is configuration rather than data entry. We onboard your team role by role, starting with the guided observer screen.

Is our data secure, and is it ours?

Yes. Role-based access, row-level security and an immutable audit trail - and your data stays yours. It can be self-hosted for full control over where it lives.

Does it work in the field without signal?

Yes. Observations, photos and timed sessions are saved on the device and sync automatically when signal returns - the far corner of the park is not a dead zone.

What languages does it support?

Hebrew, Arabic and English, with full right-to-left. Keeper notes written in Arabic are translated to Hebrew automatically, so nothing is lost between the field and the record.

Who on our team uses it?

Five roles, from volunteer observers to keepers, vets and managers - each sees exactly what they need, and nothing they don't.

Is it aligned with EAZA / WAZA?

Welfare is scored on the Five Domains model, and coverage is tracked to the association standards your accreditation is measured against - so an audit finds a record, not a gap.

Getting started

Live in weeks, not a year

The same path we took with Hai Park - your collection is in the system before your team even logs in.

1

Import

Your living collection comes across from ZIMS - animals, species and history, in one pass.

2

Configure

We set up your enclosures, roles and welfare scale to match how your park runs.

3

Train

Your team starts on the guided observer screen - most keepers are recording in minutes.

4

Go live

Welfare is tracked from day one, with the vet signing off the first assessments.
